Title:Accounts Strengthening and Business Planning - Atyrau International Airport
Budget:500,000 EUR
Dates: January, 2006 - October, 2006
Partner: Netherlands Airport Consultants B.V. (NACO), NIITK

Atyrau International Airport (AIA) obtained financing from the EBRD to fund the construction of a new runway, as well as associated investments.
AIA was also considering additional airport expansion involving development of a new passenger and cargo terminal, plus related investments.
Both projects facilitated the enhanced provision of international air services, especially to major European destinations. This in turn involved an expanded role for AIA and new challenges.
The purpose of this TA project was to help AIA develop the capacity needed to fulfill its expanded role. This included assisting the Airport to expand its physical infrastructure in a cost-effective and well-structured manner, and to improve its financial accounting procedures, management practices, and business planning processes.
