Dushanbe Kyrgyz Border Road Rehab Project Phase II

The aim of this project is to strengthen the financial management, accounting and auditing capacity and practice in the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC). The project is a component of the ADB loan provided to the MOTC for the realization of the “Dushanbe – Kyrgyz border rehabilitation project, Phase II”, and assigned to support the strengthening of accounting and internal audit functions of MOTC.

The general objective of the programme supported by ADB loan is to increase trade in the region and economic growth in project area. The outcome of the programme will be the improved and sustainable regional and national road networks. One of the objectives of the programme is to provide consulting services to improve the accounting and internal audit functions in MOTC.

This would increase the MOTC’s ability to establish effective activities to monitor expenses and assess the cost effectiveness of MOTC’s operations, including investment projects financed by international financial institutions. The work done in this technical assistance (TA) must therefore be closely co-ordinated with the ADB and other donors. Corporate Solutions was appointed to provide assistance to the MOTC in strengthening its financial management and reporting practices and internal audit function.
